The fire broke out in the westbound lanes near milepost 35 in Pohatcong Township, initial reports said.

The Huntington Volunteer Fire Co. responded and discovered smoke billowing from the trailer’s back door shortly after 3 a.m., the department confirmed on Facebook.

Crews quickly extinguished the blaze in the trailer and had cleared the scene by 4 a.m. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
